The Vanishing: Far Cry 6 X Stranger Things - Lighting Exterior
Unlike most of exterior in Far Cry6 - Lighting exterior for Vanishing mission was treated more like single play mission driven game. We chose very specific time and angle of the moon to support game play and many open world lights were turned off, and more lights were added to playable area so optimizing lighting + lighting background areas with limited budget was very challenging. Controlling fog was another one - it should be giving us atmospheric fx and have to be used as a tool to indicate players where are 'playable' areas.
Big shout out to Luka Romel for the initial lighting + weather setup, it ended up changed a lot and so lighting for some locations had to be completely redone by me due to the direction changes + budget for different mission beats with logic changes :)
All in all, it turned out to be great and it was very pleasant to work with the team again !
